As part of Nasscom’s “10000 Startups” initiative aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurship backbone of India, a startup warehouse has been launched, where 80 workstations have been set up. Nasscom Vice President Rajiv Vaishnav said that the start-ups funded by angel investors may begin working at this place, where they shall be duly mentored. “We expect start-ups to grow and be standalone entities within a year of incubation at the Bangalore warehouse, and then move out, paving the way for others to join,” Vaishnav added.
The initiative, partnered by the likes of Google, Microsoft and Verisign, garnered about 4,332 applications from extremely serious start-ups post nominations, of which 3,332 have made the cut to the next round of advancements.
