Sony finally floated its much awaited phablet, the Xperia Z Ultra in India. The Phablet is the world’s largest and slimmest full HD smartphone, according to Sony.Sony’s new monster screen offering has been made available with a price tag that reads Rs.46,990. Leading e-commerce portals, on the other hand including flipkart.com, are accepting pre-orders at Rs.44,990. Sony had introduced the smartphone at the Mobile Asia Expo held in Shanghai, China last month.
The Xperia Z Ultra is powered by a 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad-Core processor along with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. It offers 16 GB of in-built memory externally expandable up to 64 GB courtesy a microSD card. It runs on Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean).
The Phablet is first of its kind to hold a full HD TRILUMINOS display (1920×1080 pixels resolution). The display also incorporates Sony’s X-Reality technology that produces sharper images by reproducing elements absent by synthesizing outline, colour combinations and impressions. The Smartphone is equipped with an 8-Megapixel EXMOR RS sensor camera and a 2-Megapixel camera on the front that facilitates video calling. A 3,000 mAh battery fuels it, sustaining up to 16 hours of talk time and 820 hours of standby time on 3G.
The List of connectivity options features 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC among others. Just like other members of the Xperia family, the Ultra Z is waterproof and resistant to dust. Also the glass is shatterproof and resists scratches. The Xperia Z Ultra is available in options of Black, White and Purple.
