Skoda Octavia 2013 Launched: Starting Price For The Sedan’s Comfort Is Rs.13.95 Lacs

Czech car maker Skoda Auto has finally rolled out, once again, the much-awaited sedan ‘Octavia’. The car was unveiled with a price tag starting from Rs.13.95 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi). As was reported earlier, three engine variants have been made available in as many as seven options. The company also announced its decision of ending Laura’s run.

There are two versions  of the Octavia namely ‘Active’ and ‘Ambition’, powered by a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 140BHP with peak torque of 250Nm and fuel efficiency of 16.8 kmpl. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Octavia ‘Elegance’ comes with a 1.8-litre petrol TSI engine that generates maximum power of 177BHP and peak torque of 250Nm coupled with 7-speed DSG transmission. This car offers an efficiency of 14.72 kmpl. Octavia driven by a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine that takes all the three forms viz. Active, Ambition and Elegance. There are both manual and automatic transmission options available with the Elegance.

The brand new Octavia packs everything expected of a modern day sedan. Bi-xenon headlamps that light the way along with fog lights fitted in bumpers, parking sensors both rear and front, cornering function for lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), USB, Bluetooth, cruise control, automatic sunroof are few of the several features. These features however, vary in Active, Ambition and Elegance.
