India’s star Shuttler Saina Nehwal went down to Indonesia’s Lindaweni Fanetri in women’s singles quarterfinals of the Singapore Open Super Series.
In the game played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the World No. 4 lost to World No.13 21-17, 13-21, 13-21. Last week, Fanetri had to exit from the Indonesian Open in the first round itself after she suffered defeat at the hands of the same opponent.
After the scorecard read 11-all in the first round, Saina took it to 17-13 before pocketing that round. However, Lindaweni came back strong in the next two rounds only to take away the match from the Indian seeded second in the tournament.
