Polaris India has unveiled its latest 2016 Springfield for a price of Rs 30.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. The bookings for the new touring bike have already started and deliveries for the same will commence come August. The motorcycle will be available in showrooms for trade located in Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
The new 388kg-weighing performer cruiser is named after the birthplace of the Indian Motorcycle, instilling pride among riders who value the rich heritage and brilliant craftsmanship of the brand. The bike powers a ThunderStroke 111 engine (1,811cc V-twin) with a 20.8 liter fuel tank, and can generate 139 Nm torque at 2600 PRMs.
Roaring in a thunder black body, the bike features a trunk-compatible chassis for higher loading capacity and a quick release windshield. Other features include adjustable passenger floorboards, leather seating, anti-lock brakes, remote locking hard bags, tyre-pressure monitoring and cruise control with Keyless Start. The braking system features up front dual 300mm rotors clamped down by four-piston callipers, and at the read there’s a single 300mm rotor and a two-piston calliper setup. The high-quality Anti-Lock Brakes ensure safety. There are powerful headlights to light your way, and dual driving lights to assist you in the darkest of paths. A six-speed manual gearbox power the rear wheels. Telescopic forks at the front and an air-adjustable mono-shock at the rear execute the bike’s suspension.
