Nissan Motor Company launched its latest premium compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Terrano on Wednesday, making it just in time for the upcoming festive season. The Terrano diesel variant, that duplicates Renault Duster in looks and which has been built on the same platform as Duster, is bracketed within a price range of Rs 9.58 lakh to Rs 12.44 lakh. Terrano has just slight styling edits compared to Duster, and features angular headlamps, grille and bumper at the front. The rear gets revamped with an all-new tail-gate design that closely resembles the tailgate of Ford EcoSport. The rear bumper has also be slightly restyled to accommodate the reflectors at a slightly different position around the corners. Engine options are the same as Duster- 1.5-litre dCi engine that could be availed in two states of tune.
Terrano, that first debuted in 1986, is seriously looking for a revival. And the comments over the design, styling, performance and comfort so far have been good. In a plus, Nissan has offered a third-row optional seat to the SUV, which though not full-sized, should suffice the seating needs of children. Fabric covers have following options available- four faux leather covers and one beige leather cover.
The Nissan Terrano also sports a reverse parking sensor with an integrated display on the rear-view mirror. Additional specs include steering-mounted audio controls, wing mirrors with turn signals, and illuminated door sills. The company claims to have registered over 6000 pre-bookings already.
