According to reports, one of India’s favorite car makers, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is gearing up for the launch of celebrated compact MUV Ertiga’s CNG edition, aiming to capitalize on this CNG segment considering the dippy sales-figures of Swift, Dzire and Ertiga, all together. Though the launch hasn’t been confirmed yet it is predicted that you might see the MUV’s CNG version in your nearest Maruti Suzuki Showroom soon.
Ertiga’s CNG versions could be introduced in LXi and VXi forms. Price may also go up by Rs.30,000 to Rs.50,000 from the normal. The Prices of petrol and diesel versions of the MUV range from Rs.5.98 Lakhs to Rs.8.70 Lakhs.
It is learnt that Maruti intends to have two fuel options for every model available. Also given the mercurial rise in petrol and diesel prices all over India, Maruti hopes to entice ‘former’ prospective buyers of these cars with a CNG variant. With easy availability of CNG in cities it wouldn’t be a surprise if this CNG edition of Ertiga is preferred over a conventional MUV. As of now, Maruti’s CNG options are limited to Alto, Eeco, WagonR and SX4 models.
