The much awaited quarter-liter motorcycle from Mahindra’s stable is finally here. The company has launched the 300cc Mahindra Mojo bike in India for an introductory price of Rs 1.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The price is valid till Diwali. The Mojo has been simultaneously launched across several major cities including Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and New Delhi and will be available in 10 select dealerships in its pilot phase. The first 100 Mojos have been pre-booked already via invitation, and the bookings have started at Rs 10,000/-.
The Mojo has a 295cc single cylinder engine delivering 27PS of power, 30Nm of torque and a maximum speed of 147 kmph. It enjoys a comfortably long wheelbase and sports a pair of Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. The Mahindra Mojo shall be made available in three color variants – Glacier White, Charcoal Black and Volcano Red.
Dr Pawan Goenka, executive director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. beamed with pride during the Mojo launch event since it’s a completely homegrown bike with inputs from global partners, and its design is such that it shall appeal to the global rider base. The bike leverages deep consumer insights to cater to all distinct needs as stated by passionate biking enthusiasts. The 100 pre-books are just a testimony to this fact, he stated.
For the given price bracket, Mojo faces immediate (and tough) competition from Bajaj KTM Duke 200 and the Honda CBR250.
