Indian mobile manufacturers Lava Mobiles are all set to launch what is claimed to be India’s first Android 4.2 tablet. The mobile major, however, hasn’t revealed any information related to the slate as of yet. It is expected to be launched in May on the first Friday, probably, as has been Lava’s trend of late and its price tag may read INR 10,000.
Specification-wise, it is speculated that the tablet may resemble the Etab Xtron that was floated in February this year. The tablet may be empowered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. It could be the one and only version of this edition offering 8 GB of internal memory storage. Memory could be expanded externally courtesy a microSD card slot.
Lava’s tablet ‘in the dark’ could be a dual camera device with a 2MP camera on the rear side and a VGA camera on the front. A 3,700 mAh battery may fuel the tablet while one can keep guessing about the standby and talk-time. Connectivity options may include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and an HDMI port.
Since not much about the tablet is known its success against rival tabs in the market cannot be predicted. However, it being the first Android 4.2 tablet in India could work in its favour not to forget it might be pegged at or below INR 10,000!
