Smartphone manufacturer LAVA has officially released the latest additions to the Iris series – the Iris 505 and Iris 506Q. The devices are listed on popular e-commerce website Snapdeal. The 505 has been priced at Rs.8,999 while 506Q comes at a price of Rs.10,999. Both devices support dual SIM (GSM+GSM).
The Iris 505 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor. It packs 512MB of RAM and offers 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. It runs on Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. The smartphone sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. It comes equipped with two cameras. The Primary camera on the rear side is a 5-megapixel shooter while the secondary camera fitted on the front side is a VGA camera. Connectivity features include 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v3.0 among others. It is fueled by a 2,000 mAh battery that offers 6 hours of talk time on 2G and 4.5 hours on 3G.
Moving on to the Iris 506Q which is driven by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor along with 512MB RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage capacity to offer expandable up to 32GB.It also supports Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. It holds a 5-inch qHD IPS screen (540×960 pixels resolution) developed with ‘One Glass Solution’ (OGS ) technology. The 506Q also has two cameras. The Primary camera on the back is 5-megapixel camera. The Secondary camera on the front is a VGA shooter to facilitate video chats. Prominent connectivity features are Bluetooth v3.0, Wi-Fi ad 3G. It has a 2,000 mAh battery that can sustain 5.5 hours of talk time on 2G and 4 hours on 3G.
According to LAVA, Iris 506Q is FOTA upgradable which allows enables updating the handset’s software ‘over the air’ without having to connect to a PC.
