It’s been almost a decade and we still can’t seem to get our minds off Hogwarts and its magical charm. J.K. Rowling’s wonderful world and characters warrant reliving the many spellworks, one of which has come up at Pottermore as a new Daily Prophet article by Rita Skeeter dated 8th July 2014, where we come across an almost 34-year-old Harry Potter, his wife, and his many friends – the ‘gang of infamous wizards’ as the post clearly mentions – reunite for the Quidditch World Cup finale. It’s Harry’s first public outing in seven years, so all this excitement is pretty obvious.
For a gossip columnist, the post is not too detailed. But we do get some details on what Harry, Ron and Hermoine were up to all these years from where their book ended. Harry is an Auror – a member of an elite unit of specialist officers specially trained to seize Dark Wizards. Hermoine has enjoyed a quick promotion as the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, while Ron manages a Joke Shop. There’s a subtle (not much really, it’s Rita skeeter!) hint of a Harry-Ginny spat, something that’s not give much coverage. Neville Longbottom has become a Herbology teacher at Hogwarts, while Luna Lovegood is married to Newt Scamander’s grandson, Rolf, and is a mother to twins. Bill Weasley is married to Fleur Delacour.
