Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh shall lay down the foundation stone of the Indian National Defense University (INDU), a dedicated first-of-its-kind institution for military training and research studies, on May 23 in Gurgaon. The proposed 300-crore institute spans across a 200-acre campus in Binola village and is aimed towards all aspects regarding national security as part of the strategic national policy making. The university will accept students in 33:67 ratio, where 33% shall be civilians and 67% shall belong to defense services. The University is expected to commence 2017 onwards.
