India is looking forward to enhance economic relations and increase investments with oil-rich Cuba, as both the countries share “excellent” political relations, said External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M.Krishna on his official visit to Havana (cuba). As Ricardo Alarcon, the speaker of Cuba’s National Assembly, termed it as “a Historical visit”, Krishna said Indian hearts have a very special place for Cubans.
“Cuba is willing to cooperate with India in the areas of sports, bio-technology and pharmaceuticals, and will highly promote India to build partnership in hydrocarbons and oil exploration sectors,” said the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, expressing his country’s eagerness to cooperate with India in a range of various fields, including hydrocarbon exploration.
“I’m really impressed with the things going on in Cuba”, said the Indian Minister on national television, and with that sense, he announced that Jyotiraditya Scindia, India’s commerce and industry minister, will travel to Cuba to “open new horizons” in bilateral economic cooperation. S.M.Krishna referred this meeting as “Productive Exchange” and also issued an invitation to Rodríguez to visit India next month.
