Earlier, Indian men defeated Iran 71-23 in the semi-final match played at Bathinda, Punjab while Pakistan crushed Canada 53-27 to stake their claim on the World Cup. India would be looking to avenge their loss to Pakistan in the finals of the 2nd Asia Cup in Lahore, Pakistan.
In the women’s division Malaysian women overcame Danish challenge by 41 to 25 and stormed into the finals while champions India breezed past the English who hardly resisted, the final score read 56 to 7. Indians are now all set to repeat their performance from the last women’s world cup.
