The Indian arm of HTC has rolled out Android v4.2.2 update for HTC Butterfly users. Along with the Android update this HTC device also gets HTC’s BlinkFeed. It previously ran on Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS with HTC Sense 5 UI. This Android version provided fixes to Bluetooth and audio issues that plagued the previous edition. The Smartphone was unveiled last year. It was released in India in January this year with a price label of Rs.45,990. The smartphone is currently priced around Rs.34,000.
The HTC Butterfly I driven by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-Core processor with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB of inbuilt memory (11GB is available to the user) expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. This HTC device holds a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It has a full HD screen with 1920×1080 pixels resolution and pixel density 441 ppi.
The Butterfly comes equipped with 8-megapixel camera fitted on the rear side. The shooter has a dedicated HTC ImageChip along with BSI sensor and features like image stabilization, auto focus and LED flash. The lens is an 88-degree ultra-wide front angle and hence a wider frame. Videos can be captured in 1080p at 30fps. Also 6-megapixel pictures can be clicked while shooting videos in HD at the same time. There’s also a 2.1-megapixel secondary camera on the front that makes video chats possible. The smartphone is powered by a Li-polymer 2,020 mAh battery. Connectivity features include 3G, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and microUSB.
It is expected that the update will be rolled out for One X and One X+ users soon.
