The government plans to launch the ‘Direct Benefit Transfer’ (DBT) throughout the country from October 1, which shall provide a Rs.4,000 (expected) subsidy to 14 crore LPG subscribers directly in their bank accounts linked with their Aadhaar card-number. The allocation of subsidized LPG cylinder has been limited to 9 cylinders per year per customer. The scheme shall cover 20 districts in its pilot run by 15th May.
