Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Bullett Raja’ has had a bumpy ride so far. The Saif Ali Khan starrer has grossed Rs.30 Crore (approx.) so far as it completes one week on the silver screen. Not a successful one but not bad either. Weekends were good but not the kind that would raise expectations. Weekend saw a box office collection of Rs.9 Crores (approx.).Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki RasLeela Ram-Leela on the other hand is still drawing crowds. The film is already a part of the 100 Crore Club.
Bullett Raja is the story of Raja Misra played by Saif Ali Khan who is best friends with Rudra portrayed by Jimmy Shergill. The Duo save Rudra’s uncle from Lallan Tiwari (Chunkey Pandey). The ‘Jai-Veeru’ of Uttar Pradesh emerge as political commandos of Ram Babu (Raj Babbar) the minister as directed by Srivastav played by Vipin Sharma. Rudra gets killed later and dear friend Raja avenges his death.
It is learnt that the movie is in business in northern India especially Uttar Pradesh. The audiences have related well to the set up, the mafia situation etc. Even Saif Ali Khan has been appreciated for his portrayal of Raja Misra- the typical country guy with the known UP accent. Sonakshi Sinha too has been commended for her peroformance.
Bullett Raja did not amuse many people. Here’s Indian Nerve’s verdict-
With Tigmanshu Dhulia, I was expecting a commercial equal in ranks to Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur, but Bullett Raja misses the mark by a huge margin. I won’t recommend it a see.
