After a month of both the premium launch, BMW is finally up with a newbie- BMW X3 facelift. The new offering has been launched in the national capital today with a price range starting from Rs. 44.90 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom).
BMW X3 Facelift will only be available in Diesel variant, and the vehicle will be produced in BMW’s local Chennai plant. The new offering is the third generation of X3, after being launched in 2003, there was an updation of X3 in 2011 and now is the third in the name of facelift. BMW X3 facelift will be available in two variants viz. BMW X3 xDrive 20d Expedition and BMW X3 xDrive 20d xLine with the price range starting from Rs. 44.90 Lakhs and Rs. 49.90 Lakhs respectively.
Now let us see what this new variant offers, if we take a look at the exterior, X3 facelift is updated with bigger headlamps, all new bumpers on both the sides, newly designed alloy wheels, and outside rear view mirrors (OVRM’s) getting integrated turn light in them. Now coming to interiors, it all looks new. Right from wood panels to black central console, Brand new upholstery, a revised infotainment system with integrated iDrive, also an updated satellite navigation system.
If we talk of engine, BMW X3 facelift is powered with a 2.0 litre all-aluminum turbo diesel engine with a maximum power of 187 bhp, generating a 400 Nm of peak torque, the engine is coupled with an 8-speed Automatic Transmission. With a top speed of 210 Kmph, the mid-size SUV will take you from 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.
BMW India President Philipp von Sahr, who was present during the launch, said that the company is looking forward to expand their SUV business in India. The company would launch the M3 sedan, M4 Coupe, and the M5 sedan in 2014, along with its hybrid car i8, he added.
