German auto giant BMW, on Thursday, launched the transformed variants of the 7-series family at an exclusive event held in Mumbai today. These new models have been priced between Rs.92.9 lakhs and Rs.1.73 Crores (ex-showroom). They will be available in both petrol and diesel versions at all BMW dealerships across India. The deliveries would commence from May 1.
Addressing the event, President of BMW Group India, Philipp von Sahr said that the BMW flagship had stunned the world for decades through highest level of contemporary luxury and style along with maximum driving dynamics. It stood for the best that BMW have to offer. He also added that the new 7-series additions helped one make a compelling individual statement with its highest quality, exclusive character and functionality. The 730Ld of the 2013 7-series will arrive completely knocked down (CKD) and would be assembled at auto-maker’s Chennai facility while the 740Li, 750 Li and the 760Li would hit Indian shores as CBUs(Completely Built Units).
The BMW 7-series has undergone a refreshing transformation. The updated diesel variants can now produce even more power and at better economy. The efficiency of even the petrol version has now increased by 21 per cent. Both, the diesel as well as petrol versions, have an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The shortcomings of the previous edition have been taken care of along with modifications and additions that include redesigned interiors, new adaptive full-LED headlights, turn indicators integrated into wing mirrors, new taillights etc. The 7-Series also comes equipped with a 10.25-inch LCD panel for iDrive and navigation systems.
