BlackBerry 9720, introduced last month, is now available in markets across India. The device will adorn shelves in mobile stores from September 14. The Price tag attached to it reads Rs.15,999. The QWERTY phone with touchscreen will also hit markets in Asia, EMEA and Latin America soon, the company announced.
This Blackberry device is driven by an 806MHz TavorMG1 processor along with 512MB of RAM. It offers 512MB of internal storage and it can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. It runs on BlackBerry v7.1 OS, and not the latest platform that is Blackberry v10. The 9720 comes equipped with a 5-megapixel EDOF (Extended Depth of Field) camera fitted on the rear side of the phone. The front camera, however, is missing. The shooter has features like 4x digital zoom, continuous image stabilization and LED flash assistance.

It is powered by 1,450mAh battery that can sustain 7 hours of talk time and up to 432 hours of standby time. The design of the BB keyboard on this phone is slightly different than the usual redesigned to help users stay connected with BBM and other social media at any instant. There’s also a dedicated shortcut key for BBM. Another feature is the ‘Share Right from Camera feature’ that allows users to click pictures and share them right away on their favourite social networks.
Colour options include Black, Blue, Pink, Purple and White.
