Bharti Airtel has collaborated with Japan-based SoftBank to initiate a gaming venture called Tiny Mogul, under which two new games have been launched- SongQuest (a music trivia game that depends on music from Bollywood, Hollywood and Tollywood) and Shiva: The Time Bender (an endless runner game where the user jumps from era to era beating enemies on the way). The game is available for free at the Google Play Store for Android , and is also available with BSB’s free messaging service Hike. The company affirmed that they’ll be launching these games for Windows, iOS and BlackBerry platforms soon.
BSB’s Head of Product and Strategy Kavin Mittal stated that the games, though free, shall have in-app purchases included. He added that BSB is the first company to launch in-app purchases if virtual goods and premium downloads via telecom carrier billing. The price of the in-app purchases shall directly be debited from balance of pre-paid users, while for post-paid users the price shall be added to their monthly bill. The company has joined hands with Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular for this venture. The main target of this company is the youth, and they aim to capture 10 percent of the 12 million smartphones in India. The company’s also planning to launch 3 additional games by March 2014.
