Apple has finally launched its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in India today. The move comes almost a month after introducing the handsets at its annual conference in September. The smartphones can be pre-ordered from flipkart starting today ( 7th October 2016 ) . Unlike last year the phones will not be available at brick and mortar stores from midnight but rather after 7 PM on 7th October.
The 32GB, 128GB and 256GB variants of the iPhone 7 are priced at Rs 60,000, Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000 respectively in India. The bigger-screen iPhone 7 Plus models are priced at Rs 72,000 for 32GB, Rs 82,000 for 128GB, and Rs 92,000 for 256GB.
Other noted features of both the Iphones are as follows :
Improved IPX7 water resistance: Apple watch already comes with this feature and now most probably the new iphones will be able to withstand light splashes and dips in water up to a certain depth for 30 minutes.
Dual-lens rear camera on the iPhone 7 Plus: Both lenses are 12-megapixel, but one has a wide-angle camera with larger pixel size, a 6P lens, and optical image stabilization, while the second will be a telephoto lens with smaller pixel sizes and a 5P lens. The iPhone 7 is be devoid of the dual cameras and it makes senses, considering the limited real estate.
No headphone jack: Apple could be the trendsetter but other companies such as Motorola and Samsung have already ditched the earphone jack for a USB Type-C connector. Apple will be provide both Lightning EarPods and a Lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapter in the box.
Storage capacities of 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB: Apple has finally ditched the much hated 16 GB variant and added a brand new 256 GB model.
