Anurag Kashyap has a definite event to look forward to at French Riviera this year. The Bollywood filmmaker, who has had several of his films premièred at the Cannes Film Festival, is all set to features his latest film Raman Raghav 2.0 at the prestigious Director’s Fortnight of the film festival, scheduled from 11th May to 22nd May. The film is a psychological thriller based on the real-life notorious killer Raghav Raman, a character handed over to the self-assured Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Vicky Kaushal (Masaan fame) has an equally important role of a police officer. The director personally made this announcement on the micro-bogging site Twitter. Earlier, director Sriram Raghavan had dealt with this subject in his documentary film that starred Raghuvir Yadav in the lead role.
His earlier films that were showcased in the same section at Cannes include Ugly, Bombay Talkies and both parts of his epic revenge saga Gangs Of Wasseypur, all of which met with a thunderous response from the audience.
The line-up at this years Cannes Film Festival is an eclectic mix of genres, with some of the world’s best directors exhibiting their most latest project. Woody Allen’s Cafe Socirty is the august film that’ll open the festival, and the days following it shall witness movie premiers of notable films by Xavier Dolan, Nicholas Winding Refn, Pedro Almodóvar, Ken Loach, Paul Verhoeven and Steven Spielberg.
