Android users, jump with joy, for Amazon announced today that it’d be expanding its Android Appstore to more than 200 countries, which even comprises India. Amazon has sought developers from Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, South Africa, South Korea, Papua New Guinea and Vatican City to present apps for inclusion in the Android Appstore that shall launch internationally in coming months. Recently, the Android Appstore saw light in UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. So far, the apps on the Appstore have done very well, and the international launch is sure to benefit the developers in a big way.
Appstore expansion by Amazon implies that the Indian users (as well as users in the other 200+ countries) may soon get to own Kindle Fire, as the device has no access to Google Play Store but finds a similar service in Amazon’s Appstore. As for the sales report, Amazon stands at number three among the Top 5 tablet-traders as per IDC.
