The Ministry of Tourism recognizes ”Film Tourism” as a niche tourism outcome, and annually awards several stakeholders, filmmakers and writers who’ve contributed in India tourism promotion. It has even requested the state governments and union territory administrations to promote filming in their respective domains.
Earlier this year, the Ministry of Tourism inked an MoU with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to publicize ‘Incredible India’ campaign through the medium of cinema at various international film festivals. And Ministry of Tourism in return shall provide for the budgetary support for these film festivals, and other similar events.
