Ridley Scott has delivered a definite winner in his latest space extravaganza (and one of the best 3D films to hit screens this year) – The Martian. The film has ‘brought home’ $55 million in its opening weekend, and the moolah-shower is not stopping anytime soon.
The space-adventure set in the Red planet has a premise where a fellow astronaut is left behind feared to be dead, and he has no other option but to die or survive. He chooses the latter by ‘sciencing the sh** out of it’, making use of his botany skills to the extreme. his sense of humor and his crew-mate’s disco-music collection do well to keep him going alone for almost two years in a lonely planet.
