Indian born automobile giant, Bajaj Auto Limited, today launched their much awaited 200 CC super sports bike called as Pulsar RS 200. With this launch, Bajaj not only entered in the sports bike segment but also it is the first bike of the company to cost over a lakh rupees. Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 will come in two variants, the ABS version will cost Rs. 130286 and the model without ABS is going to cost Rs. 118500. The company is aiming to sell 2500 units of Pulsar RS 200 each month.
Mr. Eric Vas, President, Bajaj Auto Motorcycle, believes that the company is already a market leader in the sports segment and is positively looking forward to make a mark in the super sports bike segment too.
If we take a look at the origin of Pulsar bikes, the first Bajaj Pulsar came to the Indian market in 2001, and since its standing stiff in the market giving tough competition to the other bikes in this segment. Looking at the present scenario, Pulsar sells more than 55,000 units every month in the domestic sports motorcycle market with a leadership market share of 43 per cent making it India’s no.1 sports bike for 14 years in a row.
Talking about the technicalities of Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, it has a 4 valves spark DTSi engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. It gives a power of 24.5 PS power and screeches the road with the top speed of 141 km/hr.
