US-based motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycle has launched a new touring bike Roadmaster in India for a price of Rs. 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Though there were no drums rolled on the announcement, but the official website has listed the product detailing its features and prices. With this motorcycle’s introduction, the company now has four bikes running the Indian roads – Scout, Chief (both Classic and Vintage), Chieftain and Roadmaster.
The luxurious Indian Roadmaster includes push button engine start/stop, LED lights, heated seats for added comfort, grips and an electronically-controlled adjustable Horizon Power Windshield windshield (for improved airflow, weather protection and glare protection). The cruiser even features locking saddlebags (capacity 65.1 liters) and an adjustable floorboard. The trunk offers additional capacity of 64.4 liters.
The bike derives power off a 1.8-litre Thunder Stroke engine that delivers a peak torque of 138.9Nm. Important dimensions include ground clearance of 140mm, overall height of 1572mm, width of 1012mm and length of 2656mm.
For its stated price, the Roadmaster is the most expensive Indian Motorcycle there is. The deliveries of this bike shall most likely commence in second half of 2015.
