2014 Range Rover Sport Launch In India On October 17

British auto major Jaguar Land Rover, now an arm of Tata Motors, is all set to roll the much-awaited ‘2014 Range Rover Sport’ out of its stables in October. The SUV first showcased at the New York Auto Show held in March this year will officially drive into the Indian market on October 17. As per the company, this is the ‘most dynamic, agile and responsive Land Rover ever’ and that the SUV ‘simply demands to be driven ’. It’s lightweight and has an all aluminium body thus, better performance. The SUV will be priced around Rs.1.2 Crore, it is predicted.

This Land Rover SUV will be offered with two engine variants. First is the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that produces maximum power of 292bhp with peak torque of 600Nm and mated to eight-speed paddle operated automatic transmission. It zooms to the 100kmph mark from rest in just 7.2 seconds with its top speed being 222kmph. It offers fuel efficiency of 13.3 kmpl.

The other option is the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine that generates maximum power of 510bhp with maximum torque of 625Nm and is also mated to eight-speed paddle operated automatic transmission. This variant of the Range Rover Sport can touch 100kmph from zero in just 5.3 seconds with top speed of 250kmph. On efficiency front this variant delivers about 7.9kmpl.

The Range Rover Sport has features aplenty. Some of these features include ‘Terrain Response 2’ that auto detects terrain conditions and adjusts vehicle settings accordingly, torque vectoring, electronic air suspension, blind spot monitor and reverse traffic detection. There’s also four-zone climate control and audio system with 3D surround sound.

The 2014 Range Rover Sport is currently on sale in Britain.
